I Know You Can't Take Magnesium Wit MG But Someone Mentioned Potassium Helps With Spasms. Anyone Know Anything About This Good Bad ?
Hello DChristine:
The docs put me on azathioprine and prednisone immediately after diagnosis of MG. I had more energy than I have had for decades with those two drugs. The GP says it was the prednisone that gave me energy. I would wake up at 2 or 3 am and get to doing chores. I slept like a baby but had energy all day long. My to-do list disappeared as I seemed to complete everything I could think of. But, good things do come to an end and they started reducing the prednisone dosage gradually over a few months and along the way my energy level was reduced as well. I was told that the prednisone can do some severe damage to the body if continued too long and in too large a dosage. I have been off of it for about 10 months and have become accustomed to lower energy levels. I don't think your MG has advanced rapidly, but only your neurologist can tell for sure. I would guess you are suffering from prednisone withdrawal.
Cheers, Bill Z
I take Potassium every day with no issues
Thanks Bill. See neurologist weds. I'll see what she says .I hope your right been really weak and tired
Thanks Robert. I'm weaning off of prednisone and have progressively become weaker and weaker. Arms and legs feel like rubber and all I want to do is sleep. Is this prednisone withdrawal or MG pregressing?
