I take HuperzineA (100 or 200mcg) once or twice a day to replace Mestinon and it's side effects. It's just as effective, last longer and has hardly any side effects. I still take half a Mestinon before sleep and another half in the morning if I don't take Huperzine. Haven't tried it before bed. Chinese Medicine use it for MG. I'm not a severe case.

Double vision is very hard to cure, mine was resolve when I had a major crisis and was given IVIG. Since then, I'm doing much better. Let me know if it goes away with Huperzine. Most neurologists are not into supplements.

Since MG is considered a snow flake disease, some drs are leery about trying new meds on some patients. My neuro hasn't changed my since 2001.Most of the other meds I have taken including the infusions (IVIG is the exception) has been for the RA but benefits the MG. What works for one may not work the same for the next person

Thank you Micheline, good to know someone has tried this and it works. I just dont want to start any of the meds if i dont have to. Have been living with this for long time even tho my actual diagnosis was just recent. So i would be happy with getting help with some of the muscle weakness and double vision without side effects making me feel worse in other areas. Wondering why more people aren’t trying this!
