I Experience Heart, Palpitations, Poundings! Ever So Often Sometimes Wakes Me Up Early In The Morning. I’ve Had Heart Monitor On Three Times

A MGteam Member asked a question 💭

Each time I recorded the episode on the monitor when I turned the monitor in it showed nothing! I’ve had one doctor tell me yes MG affects the heart. The heart is a muscle. I had another doctor. Tell me no it doesn’t affect the heart. So which is it? Yes or no I am living with this experience, but I would like to know more about it! Thank you

May not be MG related, but I have frequent heart pounding. Also have off and on irregular heartbeat. Doctor not concerned about it at this time. Started after my MG diagnosis, quite the coincidence

Some of the medications we take will cause rapid heart beat. Cardiologist thought I might have a fib along with my MG. Had a loop recorder for a month now I have an implanted recorder. After 2 months NO afib.

I also will get heart pounding and racing heartbeat for no reason. Just seems to come out of nowhere and last for several minutes. Not sure why it happens to me.

Mg affects the voluntary muscles only. So the muscles that are around our lungs the muscles that are around are intestines the muscles that are around our heart. It doesn't affect the actual bowels or the actual lungs or the actual heart because those are working on their own. Voluntary muscles are your face your expressions your smile your chewing. You're lifting your arm you're walking when you breathe in you have muscles around your lungs called accessory muscles and that actually moves when you breathe so when you breathe you're calling on your muscles to work. Your heart will work automatically God built us like that.

I have had similar episodes ;but, honestly didn't attribute them to MG. Thank you for sharing.
