My Husband Is Scheduled For A Total Knee Replacement Next Month, We're A Little Concerned About Having This Done Now With MG. Any Advice? TY
I had a colonoscopy scheduled for the end of July but asked my neurologist about anesthesia and MG and he said to talk directly to the doctor doing the colonoscopy, which I did. He said that the answer was FORGET the colonoscopy as the risk factors out weights the benefits, especially since I am almost 79 years old and have no prior cancer or other negative issues. Pray all goes well.
Cheers, Bill Z.
Hady knee replaced without any issue
I was diagnosed with generalized MG in 1984. By 2016 arthritis had made both a hip replacement on one side and a knee replacement on the other. The surgeon and his staff did a lot of research about what they could use that wouldn't affect MG. For my knee they used a nerve block. This was inserted in the thigh and I went home with it, returning days later for it to be removed. It did the job of helping with the pain. They also gave me medication to take for pain but I've had so many problems with various prescriptions, that I stuck with ibuprofen and that worked for me.
Thanks Deb!
Thank you, my husband is getting the gammagard IVIG infusions every 3 weeks.
