I'm Going To Be Starting Ivig. Does Anybody Have Any Experience With It?How Did It Work For You
I’ve been getting IVIG infusions over 3 years. This is my experience but you may have a different one. At first I got worse for a week to 10 days until it kicked in and I could feel improvement. That improvement lasted another 10 to 14 days and then left. That phase lasted for many months. Then I noticed I no longer had that weakened feeling after my infusions. I now feel better after the first day and I’m better longer. Be sure to hydrate very well before, during and another day after you are finished with your set. I’ve only had one bad reaction in all this time because got slack in drinking my water. I won’t do that again. So for me, it took almost a year for my body to settle down and react consistently. Now I look forward to them. But there are some people that can’t take them. And some have different reactions than I had. You’ll have to see how your body responds. I pray you get help from them and you get some relief from this monster.
I did my first set of two IVs (infusion treatments) in June of 2024 and take a third in 6 months. I felt better alost immediately. I could feel it in my legs and my wife said a stood up straighter right away. The first injection left me hopeful that much of my loss from mg will be recovered.
Yes my daughter has them since December of last year every 3 weeks and it keeps her stable one thing they suggested for her was to keep hydrated the day before and prior too that helps alot and her pre meds help her too
Thank you. You've given me hope
I had IVig for 10 years and it worked great in keeping me stable. I did have some side effects such as a headache and low grade fever and chills when they did the drip too fast. Don't hesitate to tell them to slow down. My magic number was 160 ml ph. I believe IVig wass discontinued because my condition has remained stable for a long time. Good luck and don't hesitate to hydrate well before, during and after each treatment.
