Just wondering I have to get a chest xray I guess to look at it I had it removed 16 years ago

The thymus gland does not grow back after it is removed. Once removed, its function is permanently lost. However, since the thymus is most active during childhood and its role diminishes in adulthood, its removal typically does not significantly impact the immune system in adults.
