Does Anyone Else Have A Problem With Coordination?

A MGteam Member asked a question 💭

Faye can’t seem to walk a straight line most of the time, but her neurologist says her leg muscles seem strong . . . Is this mG related? And how do you cope/compensate for the issues?

Thank you!

Definitely ask him about it, the prednisone made a huge difference for Faye when she first found out she has MG

I can't walk a straight line either , when I was driving I told my husband I hope the police don't stop me and have me walk a straight line if they do you'll have to come bail me out of jail, I can't drive because I have a wrinkle on my retina membrane and its right on my macular I wear prisoms they take away the double vision but when I need to see up close its blurry , something else I have to learn to live with thank god for my husband he does all the driving and he'll take me any place I want to go , he usually waits in the car because he hates shopping❤

Yes, I have had balance/coordination problems with MG. Six years ago was my first time not being able to walk straight, almost like a drunk walk. I kept walking sideways into my husband, and actually will still do this when I am fatigued. Also struggle with muscle weakness in my legs, like they are jelly at times. This mainly happens after I have used them more than usual or even long car rides. When I have sat in the car for a long period of time, getting out, I have almost fallen to the ground, because of lack of leg coordination and muscle weakness.

Thank you all, we keep planning to get Faye back into physical therapy, but every time we think she’s well enough to start it again, she has another bout of aspiration pneumonia. It’s rough 🤷🏻‍♀️ but we try to keep our heads up and fight it the best we can

My MG bothers my balance because of my vision , but in 2011 I had a acoustic nuroma removed in my ear canal and they messed with the crystals in my ear and since then my balance has been off , it was way worse I couldn't even walk straight so I had to take 1 year of therapy to get most of it back but I can't walk up stairs without holding on to a rail or can't do any thing over my head then along comes MG , all I'm thankful for is that I only have Ocular MG and it hasn't effective my muscles.
