I Would Be Interested To Hear People’s Experiences With Imuron And If Your Taking An Antibiotic With It As Well?

My MG converted from ocular to Generalized so I had to switch from a neuro-opthalmologist to a neurologist. She wants to wean me off prednisone and move me to Imuron and and Bactrim. Curious about experiences with these drugs, effects and side effects.

My neurologist put me on it when I started having problems with swallowing again. I stayed on it for several years. The only real side effect I know of that I had was that sometimes it made me feel slightly nauseous with mild stomach pain. But after having two episodes of skin cancer on my scalp, he thought it might have been because of the Imuran so I got off of it. Even after getting off of it, I still had another episode of skin cancer that showed up in my lymph nodes in my neck so not sure if that was the cause or not. This time, though, the surgeon said it was necrotic cells.

I took Imuran and felt great for a couple of weeks, but then started to run a fever and had to discontinue. After stopping it, I realized that it had contributed to brain fog, as well.
A friend took Imuran as part of her chemo treatment for cancer and had no side effects at all, which made me wonder if people with MG react differently as a rule or if it's an entirely indivual thing.
Hope you do well on it, Roy, and that it makes a big difference in your MG journey!
Blessings!
