My husbsnd had 6 of the plasmapharesis done. They told us that 4 is the usual dose but he responded so well they decided to do 6. It helped him tremendoulsly in his recovery. He was like he was paralized except for his hands and just within the day of each treatment he regained more and more of his movement back.

I had both IVIG 2x & Plasmapharesis once while in the hospital. All were premedicated with Tylenol & Benadryl, and I was closely monitored during all infusions. The Plasmapharesis lasted 3 hours each time over a 4 day period. The insertion of the port line in my neck was not a pleasant experience, and after each, I was exhausted and slept for a couple of hours that afternoon.
Good luck with yours, and be blessed! 🙏

1. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before the procedure to help maintain your blood pressure and make it easier to find veins.
2. Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment.
3. Bring Entertainment: Since the procedure can last one to three hours, bring a book, music, or something to keep you entertained.
4. Communicate with Your Doctor: Discuss any medications you're taking and follow any specific instructions your doctor gives you.
5. Rest Afterwards: Plan to rest after the procedure, as you might feel tired or dizzy.

Good luck with your treatment!
