i’m with you regarding medication. I don’t want to be dependent on drugs, yet it becomes. vicious cycle with the MG. Sleep, stress, fatigue all are a primary triggers. i used xanax as needed but when i was hospitalized they told me to discontinue it. i swear, i rest all day and an always fatigued.
i’m really hoping this next cycle of vyvgart will give me that boost i need.
anyone hear or use any of these newer drugs? like some info.

Hi Helen, I realize that you asked the question about sleep two months ago, but I'm just now seeing it. So sorry to hear that this is a problem for you. I have issues with sleep, too. If I can get to sleep, I usually sleep through the night, but there are times every week when I can't get to sleep, and would lie in bed awake all night. If I don't sleep, my husband doesn't sleep well, so I usually get up and read or do puzzles in another room until I feel like I can sleep.
I have a wonderful neurologist who knows me well enough to understand that lack of sleep triggers other mg symptoms for me, so he has prescribed a sleep aid that usually helps. I only take it when I really need it. The first 30 pills he prescribed lasted me almost 6 months, because if I know that I have the next day to sleep, I don't take a pill. I'm very careful about becoming dependent on medications, so sometimes I would rather just stay awake.
It's a problem that you really should talk to your doctor about, so you can make an informed decision about finding a solution.
All the best to you!

I’m 73 and my disturbed sleep seems to follow no diagram. A couple of nights I’ll be fine and the next I wake up on and off all night. I’m on mestinon and 10 mg prednisone but so far that has affected me just as my doc wanted. I’m more active during the day. Thank goodness!

I was never a good sleeper but now it much worse. When I feel the fatigue coming on, I don’t fight it, I actually collapse on the couch and go out for a few hours. Then of coarse at night I can’t sleep. I’m a 77 years old baby, sleeping a few hours at a time. Still trying to get a handle on these symptoms.
