At the moment I appear to be affected most by the medications: 1 to 2 hours after taking prednisone and Azathioprine fist thin in the morni
I experience confusion and fuzzy-headedness that last 4 or 5 hours or so. I also get severe cramps if I take too much pyridostigmine. How can I reduce the confusion and fuzzy- headedness?
The taper was .5 mg every week so it took 5 or 6 weeks. I felt the withdrawal as the weeks went on. Energy levels went down and foggy brain in the mornings for a couple hours.
Thanks Bill. I’m on a course of phasing out the prednisone on a long taper later this month. I can’t get off it soon enough. The side effects are terrible. Were you on a long taper?
I also take azathioprine, but stopped the prednisone as I didn't seem to need it at this time. The pyridostigmine I have is for emergencies and I was told to only take it if breathing was becoming an issue and to call 911 after taking it. I mis-understood the instructions and took one of the pyridostigmine pills and had the same reaction you experienced Nathan2. I don't take it regularly any more but have it for emergencies only.
Cheers, Bill
